Who said you can't find an affordable home on Long Island? In tony Locust Valley, two houses have asking prices under $200,000.
One, located on Cross Street and shown here, is scheduled to go to auction Nov. 1, but offers are still being accepted on the bank-owned property, says Cruse Real Estate agent Michael Kenduck (516-826-2100), who is listing the property for American Home Mortgage Servicing, Inc.
The 1920 Colonial has three bedrooms and only one bathroom, and is situated on a 50-foot-by-100-foot lot. "It does need a lot of work," Kenduck says. "It's pretty beat up."
"But," he adds, "the beautiful part is that you're still in Locust Valley schools."
On nearby 13th Street, there's a bank-owned bungalow, also built in 1920 and in the Locust Valley school district, on the market for $175,000. It has one bedroom and one bath, and is also on a 50-foot-by-100-foot parcel. It is listed with Todd Yovino of Island Advantage Realty (631-351-6000), which also specializes in selling foreclosures.
