New York Mets closer Francisco Rodriguez just closed on an Upper Brookville home.
“K-Rod,” as Rodriguez is known, bought the six-bedroom, 6.5-bath center-hall Colonial Aug. 14, says listing agent Kathleen Pisani, associate broker and a manager at the Syosset/Muttontown office of Daniel Gale Sotheby’s International Realty.
He paid $2.3 million. The asking price had been $2.599 million.
The 2.21-acre property features separate guest quarters, a heated gunite pool, fruit trees and a bocce court. The house has a new kitchen. With a fountain on the front lawn, “the approach to the house is beautiful,” says Pisani, adding that the home is on a cul-de-sac.
Manhattan-based agent Judith Berke of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate represented Rodriguez with Matthew Korman of the Franklin Square. A spokeswoman for Prudential declined to comment.
“Real estate is on the upswing,” says Pisani, pointing out that six houses are now under contract in the Brookville area.
