Partygoers get peek at Manhasset's Ritz Carlton condo

So, July 21 wasn’t exactly a red-letter day in your summer. Well, it might have been if you had been among the 400 or so guests at the party Shawn Elliott -- of Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes & Estates -- threw to celebrate the launch of the third edition of his magazine, Luxury. That magazine, Elliott says, celebrates the best of the best -- whether it’s cars, jewelry, fashion, restaurants or entertainment -- on the Gold Coast of Long Island.
This was just the most recent party in what is rapidly becoming a tradition for Elliott, who celebrates each edition with a great deal of hoopla. This time, there was a red carpet, complete with paparazzi; there was Champagne and caviar; outside there were Maseratis, Ferraris and Rolls Royces -- and a chance to test drive the Rolls if you were so inclined.
It all took place at the Ritz Carlton residences sales offices in Manhasset. Ultimately, there will be some 244 two- to three-bedroom condos in the community, says Elliott, ranging in price from $1.5 million to $5 million. It costs $50,000 to reserve an apartment, but as the project develops, additional payments are required, says Elliott.
While construction starts this fall and the condos are expected to be completed in two and a half years, partygoers got a sneak preview of the apartments, checking out a model of a two-bedroom unit.
These aren’t just any run-of-the-mill condos, Elliott says. Instead, he says, they represent the best Long Island has to offer. “These are the first of their kind on Long Island -- five-star homes. There will be an indoor and an outdoor pool, a private spa, a movie theater, and concierge service.”
