Port Washington house puts life in the parties
Both the inside and outside of this recently listed Port Washington home are made for entertaining. Between the large, sun-splashed family room -- which gets light from two sides of the house -- and the backyard, with an outdoor living room, boccie court, swing and hammock, there have been many parties.
The three-bedroom, 2½-bathroom split-level is on a pie-shaped .29 acre on a small cul-de-sac. The backyard also accommodates a large brick-and-stone gas barbecue with a sink, a counter and a large piece of slate from which food buffets are served.
"This house is perfect for entertaining. Period," seller Jill Hill says.
The boccie court was put in by the previous and original owner. It is terraced into side property. "It makes it really fun for parties," says Hill. In addition to boccie games, the court has doubled as a bike-riding surface for the kids and a spot for a pony party for Hill's daughter.
The home is billed as a three-bedroom, but a room that Hill currently uses for an office could be a fourth bedroom. The heated, two-car garage was added when the previous owner converted the original garage to the current family room.
Additional amenities include two fireplaces, central air-conditioning and an in-ground irrigation system.
The property is listed for $850,000 with Maggie Keats and Denise Silverstein of Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
