Rich Cribs: Anchor selling Water Mill home, and more
LISTING NEWS. Former Fox Business Network anchor Alexis Glick just put her Water Mill home on the market for $8.995 million. She and husband, Sag Harbor native Oren Glick, bought the house in 2007 and soon renovated it. "We wanted to keep the integrity of the original buildings because we loved them,” Glick told REAL LI in 2009. “In the main house, we decided to do a lot less structural work because we really liked the bones of the home.” Architect Joe Bahri designed the 3,000-square-foot, three-bedroom, two-bath house, which was built in 1971. Francis Fleetwood designed the guest house. Glick is chief executive of the Gen YOUth Foundation, a new nonprofit dedicated to reversing childhood obesity rates. She left the network, where she was vice president of business news, in 2009. The property also has a pool. It is listed with John Golden of Prudential Douglas Elliman Real Estate.
PRICE CUT. While the size of Tory Burch’s company continues to go only up, the price of her Southampton home continues to go down. Just reduced to $14.75 million, the six-bedroom, 8.5-bath home is on 4.5 oceanfront acres, according to Propertyshark.com. The clothing and accessories designer bought the property from her then-soon-to-be ex-husband in early 2009 for $22.5 million (they originally purchased it as a couple in 2005 for $14 million). Burch abandoned plans to flatten it and then put it on the market for $17.9 million; she lowered it to $16.75 million last June. She has subsequently purchased property less than five miles away. The property is co-listed with Eve Combemale of Sotheby’s International Realty and Tim Davis of The Corcoran Group.
ANOTHER CHOP. La Selva, the historic Upper Brookville mansion belonging to the wife of imprisoned former Computer Associates chief Sanjay Kumar, is back on the market for a lower price. The 24.3-acre Hunt and Hunt property is now listed with Margaret Mateyaschuk and Margaret Trautmann of Daniel Gale Sotheby's International Realty for $9.999 million. In 2009, when the house hosted a designer show house, the asking price was $14.9 million. Once a the Roman Catholic St. Francis Retreat, the 40-room Italian Renaissance home first came on the market in 2007 for $17 million.
