Sagaponack house near Billy Joel homes sells for $19 million

A five-bedroom, three-bath contemporary on Gibson Lane in Sagaponack has sold for $19 million, according to the Long Island Real Estate Report. The 4,000-square-foot home was built in 1981.
The 2.6 acre property has a heated gunite pool, a pool house, all-weather tennis court and almost 250 feet of ocean frontage. The asking price had been $24.5 million.Beate Moore of Sotheby’s International Realty had the listing. Kathleen Zappola of Strough Real Estate Associates brought the seller.
A nearby property belongs to belongs to Joanne Corzine, ex-wife of New Jersey’s outgoing governor Jon Corzine. Billy Joel also owns two nearby homes that he’s been trying to sell for a combined $35 million.
