Why Alexis Glick loves her Water Mill home

FOX Business Network anchor Alexis Glick loves her Hamptons home. "Our Long Island home is our oasis, our paradise," says Glick, who also is vice president of business news at the cable network.
The Glicks bought the Water Mill property on Mecox Bay in 2007. Public records show they paid $7.3 million.
“It's modern, sleek, beachy, full of warmth and love and dominated by superheroes,” she says of the house. Though she could easily be referring to herself or her husband, Oren Glick, owner of Manhattan-based digital imaging agency SD Productions, she is actually speaking of their three young sons, who help decorate the home with Legos on rainy days. The Glicks performed a superhero worthy stunt in taking on the task of making an old home new in six months. “The main house was [originally] built by a well-known modern architect Y. S. Bahri and the pool / guesthouse was built by famed Hamptons architect Francis Fleetwood. We wanted to keep the integrity of the original buildings because we loved them,” says Glick. “In the main house, we decided to do a lot less structural work because we really liked the bones of the home.” The outside of the home took the most work. “It was essential that the focal point of the home be the water outside,” she explains. “We didn't want the inside of our home to take away from the beauty of the outside. We didn't want any distractions so we decided to keep things very simple and very comfortable.” And for good reason. The Glicks waited years for such a location. They lived on the other side of Mecox Bay on Mecox Road in Water Mill for nine years. Alexis Glick's parents had a home in Bridgehampton and 10 years ago moved to Sag Harbor, where her husband grew up on the water. “When our kids started to become little people (as opposed to toddlers), we began aggressively looking for the ideal setting,” she says. “We wanted our children to share some of our fondest memories as kids by being on the water and a stone’s throw from the beach.”Tags: celeb , Alexis Glick , Water Mill , Rich Cribs
