Why it’s for sale Tisch, 65, a former marketing and communications manager at a Farmingdale packaging company, is moving to New Jersey to be closer to her daughter.
With only 17 units, the Oakwood Acres complex is small and private. Tisch and her husband bought the two-bedroom, 2.5-bath unit 14 years ago and put in new oak floors on the main level, a tile floor in the foyer and a new heating and air conditioning system a year ago. The main floor features an eat-in kitchen, a half-bath and a living room and dining room combination that leads to a deck. Both bedrooms are on the second floor. In addition to an attached garage, the unit has a finished basement with a storage area. Tisch talks about her condo:
“My husband and I loved this particular condo ... with the proximity to the [downtown]. You can walk to it. And it's a great town. It offers everything you might want ... You feel like you’re living in SoHo. I love the beaches but then there’s a country feel right off the back deck. The master bedroom is very large and there’s a bathroom right there ... The other bedroom is smaller but with its own full bath. Another great thing is the washer and dryer are on the second floor. The master bedroom has two closets — a walk-in and a regular. We have an HOA (homeowners association) and a very good board president. New roofs were done two years ago.
