Why it’s for sale. Michael, 44, is vice president of a specialty sports flooring company, and his wife, Emily, 44, is a center director at KinderCare in Smithtown. Both recently got new jobs out of state to which they'll be relocating.
The Mills’ wide high ranch was built in 1965 and is on an 85-by-110-foot lot in the “deep south” area of Bellmore. The house has five bedrooms and two full bathrooms. Michael shares his thoughts about it:
“The house has an open and airy floor plan with wide hallways. We have a water view, and my wife always says she loves the smell of the sea air coming across the bay in the morning ... had zero flood damage ... We’re at the end of a peninsula.
"We’re the only house with a rectangular lot. All the others are pizza-slice shaped. This is a very quiet street. ... We literally redid the entire house ... every room, every bathroom, the kitchen ... a new central air-conditioning system. ...
"We put in a three-car driveway and a new stoop ... and a new 30-by-20-foot flagstone patio in the backyard. For customers walking in, unless they don’t like the paint colors, there’s nothing that has to be done. The house is brand new, in and out, within the last year.”
