Why it’s for sale Candice, 36, is a stay-at-home mother, and Jeff, 35, is an engineer. They will be relocating to Florida for Jeff’s company.

The Elkins’ 1,700-square-foot home is in the Storybook section of Nesconset. It is on a corner lot and has central air-conditioning, in-ground sprinklers and a drive-under two-car garage. Candice says about the property:

“We’ve done a lot of updates ... We put in a new front door with wrought-iron inlay and new ceramic tile flooring. We have a wood-burning fireplace in the den that we use all winter. When you walk in the house, it’s straight ahead. The handcrafted mantel was made by my father-in-law ... We love this house. We spend most of our time in the den, which is off the kitchen. We do a lot of holidays -- we had 26 people for a sit-down dinner at Christmastime ... We have a 14-by-22-foot back deck made of composite wood that’s great for entertaining ... We have a barbecue, table and chairs and a swing out there that’s in addition to the kid toys ... It’s a great neighborhood, very family-friendly with lot of kids ... You feel very comfortable and safe. The corner where we’re located is a bus stop for all grade levels ... I can wait on the front porch for the kids to get off the bus ... We just renovated the main bathroom with all-new fixtures and tile, and the smaller bathroom was renovated in 2008 ... We have a partially finished basement ... with tons of storage. It’s set up as playroom right now.”
