It may not be as momentous as winning the Stanley Cup, but former Islander Bobby Nystrom just scored a big goal in the real estate game: His Oyster Bay Cove home recently went into contract, according to real estate records.

The five-bedroom, five-bathroom shingled Colonial is listed for $1.65 million. The 1954 house has been "completely redone," the real estate listing says. Newer amenities include radiant heat in the kitchen and guest bathroom as well as extensive millwork.

The 3.18-acre wooded property boasts an in-ground pool, specimen trees and perennial gardens.

One of the online real estate photos advertising the house shows a bedroom with hockey jerseys, presumably for his son, Eric. Also a professional hockey player, he is currently on the Dallas Stars, and has played for the Calgary Flames and the U.S. National Team. There are jerseys in the room for each of the teams.

Nystrom scored the 1980 Stanley Cup winning goal for the  Islanders, which helped him earn the nickname "Mr. Islander." The right wing was on the team from 1972 to 1986.

His property is listed with Karyn Rotter of Shawn Elliott Luxury Homes & Estates. Jyll Kata and Patricia Santella of Douglas Elliman Real Estate represented the buyer.
