WHY IT'S FOR SALE. Kempster, 25, is a full-time teacher at St. Anthony’s High School in South Huntington. She says she wants to shorten her commute. She has owned her 1970 three-bedroom, two-bath ranch for two years. The house is on a third of an acre and was recently updated. Amenities include central air conditioning, a fireplace flanked by built-in bookcases and one-car attached garage. She chats about the house:

“The house is within walking distance to a deeded private beach open to only Camp Mineola Road residents. The house also backs Strong’s Marina. It’s in the heart of the wineries and right by Love Lane.

"The house has been. . . renovated. There are hardwood floors throughout. We added chair rails and painted the house inside and outside. We brought in 400 yards of dirt and raised the back and side yards . . . put in a six-zone sprinkler system which can be hooked up to well water or town water . . .

"We re-sodded and added a berm on the side of the house and also added a slate path of beach rock that leads from the back patio to the front. We redid the family room in the back and added a new floor. The kitchen was renovated [with] a new floor, a chair rail, new laminate counters and an oyster shell backsplash. The cabinets were painted and a new sink [installed].

"The kitchen and living room have sliding glass doors to a screened-in sun patio . . . We have glass [for that room] for the winter and screens for the summer. We [upgraded] . . . a bathroom with new paint, a new toilet, sink, vanity and medicine chest.”
