Wood surfaces are found at every turn in this 2,200-square-foot Southampton chalet listed for $889,000.

Designed by custom log-cabin builder Lindal, the cedar-soaked four-bedroom, three-bath home was built in 1991 on a 0.6-acre lot, says listing agent Aaron Curti of Douglas Elliman Real Estate. He is co-listing with Oona Cree.

“Everything that was planted originally has grown in. He maintains it — that’s his hobby,” Curti adds of the owner.

The open-plan first floor includes a living-dining room with double-height vaulted ceilings, a two-story glass wall and a wood-burning fireplace. A loft with cathedral ceilings looms above. Shortly after the home was built, the kitchen was updated with new countertops and cabinets “to bring some color into the house,” Curti says.

A ground-level master bedroom suite features vaulted ceilings, a renovated en suite bath and views of the free-form in-ground pool. Double doors in the living room, kitchen and master bedroom suite open to decks. A lower level contains a den, guest bedroom, kitchenette, cedar closet and laundry.

A gated walkway through plantings leads to the pool and a stone patio.

A private portion of the home with a separate entrance and its own deck can be used as an attached pool house, Curti says.
