'The Devil Wears Prada' author Lauren Weisberger returns with a sequel, and special GILT sales
If you haven't read Lauren Weisberger's best-selling novel "The Devil Wears Prada," chances are you've seen the movie, where a steely Meryl Streep plays Anna Wintour-type fashion editor Miranda Priestly whose demanding ways (to put it nicely) are a serious wake-up call for her new assistant, post-grad Andrea "Andy" Sachs (Anne Hathaway).
Well, the fashion-fueled drama is back, as Weisberger released a long-awaited sequel, "Revenge Wears Prada: The Devil Returns," Tuesday, with a properly trendy bash thrown by luxury sale site GILT at Manhattan hot spot Bagatelle with flowing Patron Tequila cocktails.
The novel centers around Andy 10 years later, who's on top of the world running a hit bridal magazine when she suddenly finds herself thrust back into the path of a certain old boss she thought she left behind.
To celebrate the return, Weisberger, who has also written juicy reads "Chasing Harry Winston," "Everyone Worth Knowing" and "Last Night at Chateau Marmont," has curated a sale for Gilt City New York with her favorite go-to spots, from Oscar Blandi Salon (a highlighting treatment with the blonde's favorite hair stylist, Kyle, a $535 value, is on sale for $298 ), to dual membership and a guided tour at the Rubin Museum of Art (originally $130, on sale for $78). Throughout the week, experiences inspired by Andy and Miranda will pop up on the site. Shop the exclusive Manhattan experiences at giltcity.com/newyork/collection/laurenweisberger.
Weisberger also curated a stylish sale for GILT, with her favorite apparel and accessories from top designers including 3.1 Phillip Lim, Brian Atwood and Elizabeth and James. Signed copies of her new book are also on sale. Shop the fashion at gilt.com/revengewearsprada.
