Giuseppe and Marisa Ruta, owners of the original La Bottega in Garden City South, will celebrate their restaurant’s 10th anniversary with a 50 percent discount that runs from March 4 to 10. Barely a month after it opened in the former home of Brooks & Porter, Savoy Tavern has a new chef and a revised menu. Kenneth Pulomena, who saw the kitchen through its opening, has been replaced by Alexis Trolf, formerly of Caffe Laguna and Swingbelly’s in Long Beach.

Lucharito’s, a Mexican restaurant with a “luchidor” (Mexican wrestler) theme, came into being this past December. As owner Mark LaMaina tells it, the place was born after his previous enterprise, Butta Cakes — a cupcake cafe with breakfast, lunch and, on weekends, dinner — was virtually destroyed by superstorm Sandy.

Gerry Hayden, partner in The North Fork Table & Inn in Southold, has been named a best-chef semifinalist in the annual James Beard Foundation Awards for the third consecutive year.
