Legacy: A Desecrated Cemetery
British soldiers under Thompson's command dug up graves and transformed the Old Burying Ground overlooking Huntington into Fort Golgotha. Gravestones were used for ovens, and legend is that fresh-baked bread bore the reverse inscriptions of the stones.
