Descendant: Quentin Sammis
Quentin Sammis, the owner of a major real estate-insurance business in Huntington, is the best-known member of one of the town's most prominent families. The alleged murderer Royal Sammis was his fourth cousin, twice removed.
"I want to disassociate myself from that story," Sammis said in a recent interview. "In everybody's ancestry there's a closet you don't want to open, somebody who's in jail or somebody who did something.
"This is one of the things I don't like to talk about because it's not a very pleasant story."
