HISTORY MYSTERIES

Where Was Casino Beach?

Taylor Family Photo

Taylor Family Photo (Courtesy of Douglas Taylor / )

DOUGLAS TAYLOR of Kings Park found this family photo in a trunk. Taken around 1940, the photo shows his father, Arthur Taylor Sr., seated inside the car, and his mother, Mildred, with his older brothers. Taylor says the family often took auto trips around Long Island, but he's never heard of Casino Beach, the name printed on the building at the rear. Does anyone know where Casino Beach was?

Fishing for A Location

THIS PICTURE was offered by John and Cindy Ward of Valley Stream, who acquired the negative at an auction in Babylon. They bid $5 for a box containing a number of negatives, some which can be identified as being taken in Valley Stream. The box also included postcards addressed to Hicksville and letters to Saint James. Can anyone identify the location of this photo?
