Three of five teens injured in a single-car crash Friday
night in East Marion remained in stable condition yesterday, a spokeswoman for Stony Brook University Medical Center said.
Marley Blangiardo, 17, and Chloe Blangiardo, 13, both of Cutchogue; and Amanda Richards, 15, of Southold were taken to the hospital after Marley Blangiardo lost control of a convertible friends said she was driving home from a birthday party in Orient. The driver and all four passengers were ejected from the car, police said.
Southold Town Police would say only that the investigation is continuing. Blangiardo has been charged with driving while intoxicated and four counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Frank Blangiardo, father of Marley and Chloe, said his daughter had swerved to avoid hitting a deer.
Two other passengers, Nicole Gluck, 15, of Southold and Andres Stavropolis, 16, of Greenport were taken to Eastern Long Island Hospital in Greenport after the crash, which occurred at Route 25 and The Long Way. The hospital and police would not comment on their conditions.
