Three Queens women were arrested, two for prostitution, after a raid Thursday at a Huntington Station massage parlor, Suffolk police said.
More than $700 in cash, massage tables and other assorted items used in prostitution activity were seized at Acupuncture, 517 East Route 25 after an investigation that police said included extensive surveillance and undercover police officers.
Jeomim Sprute, 43, of 4017 166 Street, Flushing, was charged with one count of prostitution and one count of unauthorized practice, police said, explaining that practicing massage therapy without a license is a felony under the state education law.
Chun Cui, 45, 132-02 41st Ave., Flushing, was charged with unauthorized practice. A 52-year-old Flushing woman was also charged, with two counts of prostitution.
All three were held overnight at the Fourth Precinct and are to be arraigned Friday at First District Court in Central Islip on May 9.
Police, in announcing the arrests, pointed out that "a criminal charge is merely an accusation. A defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty."
