Five people were arrested in two Huntington bars Friday night on charges of violating the state's liquor laws – mostly by selling alcohol to minors, police said.

Based on complaints from the community, authorities began inspections late Friday night at the Nags Head Ale House, at 396 New York Ave., and the Huntington Village Tavern, at 378 New York Ave.

According to police, at Nags Ale House, Kathleen Verini, 41, of 8 Heller Ct., Dix Hills, and Michael Mansury, 23, of 201 West 22nd St., Huntington, were charged with selling alcohol to a minor. Nicholas Rivera, 24, of 223 Store Hill Rd., Westbury, was charged with being an unlicensed security guard.

At the Huntington Village Tavern, Lawrence Goodman, 42, of 6 Frost Pond Rd., Greenlawn, and Ashley Kolarcik, 26, of 38 Elder Dr., Commack, were charged with selling alcohol to minors.

In addition, both bars were given summonses by the town fire marshal for overcrowding.

The raids were conducted by officers from the Suffolk County Police Second Precinct, along with the Town of Huntington fire marshal's office.

All the defendants were given field appearance tickets and will be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip, on May 8, 2008.
