Huntington seeks to renew $15M park bond
Cover of the draft plan
Huntington officials will hold a special meeting of the town board Tuesday at 8:30 a.m. to consider adopting two resolutions.
The first resolution will deal with placing an item on the November ballot that calls for renewing a $15-million open-space bond, first approved in 1998, that is set to expire this year. The bond, which would carry no tax increase, would be used for acquisition of open space, park improvements, neighborhood enhancements, and "green" initiatives.
The second resolution would schedule a public hearing to consider the Draft Horizons 2020 Comprehensive Plan Update, a draft version of what will become a road map for future development.
A draft of the plan was released last week and the community has been asked to provide input that will be discussed at a Sept. 23, meeting of the town board. Here is a link to the draft of the Huntington plan.
The meeting is at Huntington Town Hall, 100 Main St.
