Suspect sought in Huntington credit card theft
The Suffolk County police on Thursday asked for the public's help identifying a man -- whose image was captured on a security camera -- who allegedly stole a credit card and used it to fill up his gas tank and buy other items at a service station.
The Visa card was stolen March 2 from a Centerport man who was using it to buy gas at an Amoco station, at 272 East Main Street in Huntington.
A short time later, the credit card was used at a Mobil gas station at New York Avenue and Jericho Turnpike, and a security camera caught him making a $205 purchase of merchandise.
The man may have been driving an older copper-colored Nissan Sentra.
Anyone with information about this crime is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
All calls will be kept confidential and the caller will be eligible for a cash reward of up to $5,000 for information that leads to an arrest.
