A driver was killed when he lost control of his car and hit
a tree in Elmont, the Nassau police said.
Jeffrey Jean Louis, 27, of Queens Village, was driving his 2004 Mitsubishi west on Dutch Broadway at 5:15 p.m. Thursday when he lost control and hit the tree at the corner of 238th Street.
He was taken to Winthrop-University Medical Center in Mineola, where he was pronounced dead at 6:19 p.m.
His vehicle was impounded for safety checks.
