A Congers woman who left her 9-year-old child home alone in the middle of the night was found out when a police officer found her driving under the influence while carrying drugs in the car, police said.
Barbara H. Kramer, 38, was pulled over on Lake Road in Congers at 2:42 a.m. Tuesday on suspicion of vehicle and traffic violations, the Rockland County Sheriff's Department said in a statement.
Police said Kramer was intoxicated and in possession of numerous pills and capsules containing various narcotics, police said.

Upon discovering Kramer had left her 9-year-old child home alone, police called Child Protective Services. The child, whose gender police did not identify, was turned over to the biological father, police said.
Kramer was charged with DWI, seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance and endangering the welfare of a child, misdemeanors, along with vehicle and traffic violations.
She was released without bail and will appear in Clarkstown Town Court on March 18. Information on her legal representation was not available Tuesday. A message was left on Kramer's home phone.
