A Lake Katrine man was arrested early Saturday morning when he was spotted leaving a house after a burglary, the Kingston Police Department said.

Paul Krusher, 40, is accused of breaking into a home on Boulevard after 1 a.m. while the family inside was sleeping. Krusher picked up about $1,000 worth of stuff from the home without waking the sleeping family, cops said, then made his way outside.

Krusher stepped out just as another family member was pulling up the driveway, police said. Realizing he'd been spotted, Krusher ran as the person in the driveway called police.

A responding officer caught the Lake Katrine man not far from the Boulevard house about 1:40 a.m., cops said.

Krusher was charged with second-degree burglary and fourth-degree criminal possession of stolen property, both felonies. He was held in Kingston police lockup Saturday pending an arraignment hearing.
