Councilwoman Letitia James wins Democratic nomination in race for NYC public advocate

NEW YORK - Councilwoman Letitia James has won the Democratic nomination in the race for New York City Public Advocate.

James defeated state Sen. Daniel Squadron in a runoff election and will now be on the ballot this November.

The public advocate race was the only citywide runoff at stake.
