Burden's friends and family shouted angrily at the judge when the sentence was read. They said 37 years is too harsh of a sentence, especially after Burden took responsibility for the murder.

Hassan's friends and family were also angry about the sentence, but for a different reason - they said it was too lenient.

News 12 spoke with Hassan's mother, who lives in Bangladesh. She said Burden will go home to his family when his 37-year sentence is up, but Hassan will never be able to go home to her.
