NCAA lacrosse is very exciting to watch. I love it and hope to play it when I get to college. There are 67 Division I lacrosse teams, 56 Division II lacrosse teams, and 215 Division III lacrosse teams. All divisions have a lot of very athletic players.
The team with the most championships is Johns Hopkins. They have won six championships and they continue to defeat other teams. My favorite team is Virginia.
One of my favorite players, and one of the best lacrosse players in history, is Rob Pannell out of Cornell. Rob won the 2013 Tewaaraton Award. This trophy is given to the most outstanding college lacrosse player. It is the lacrosse equivalent of football's Heisman Trophy. He was given this trophy last year and is now a part of the Major League Lacrosse Team the New York Lizards.
Last year, Duke won the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championship for Division I. The Blue Devils beat Syracuse 16-10 in Philadelphia last year. I do not know which teams will be in the NCAA Men's Lacrosse Championships this year, but I predict Duke will come back and win it again. The championships are May 24 to 26 at M&T Bank Stadium in Baltimore.
Some of the teams I think may be in the championship games are Denver, Duke, Johns Hopkins, Cornell, Navy, Colgate, Virginia, Loyola and Maryland.
And I will be there!
