Dead dog washes ashore in lobster crate in Eatons Neck

EATONS NECK - Officials say a dog was found dead inside a lobster crate that washed up on a North Shore beach.

According to officials, the crate washed up along Old Wrinkle Point Road in Eatons Neck. A dead pit bull was found inside.

The Suffolk SPCA says the crate was wired shut and weighed down with bricks.

The SPCA is working to determine if the dog was alive when the crate was thrown in the water.
