Deliberations resume in Sandy Annabi trial

YONKERS - Jury deliberations resumed today in the federal corruption trial of Yonkers City Councilwoman Sandy Annabi.

Annabi and Zehy Jereis, her co-defendant and political mentor, are facing a total of 11 counts between them, ranging from conspiracy and bribery to extortion and tax evasion. The jury of nine women and three men are wading through five weeks worth of testimony and evidence.

The jury is trying to decide if the former Yonkers city councilwoman accepted thousands of dollars in bribe money to change her vote on two development projects.
