East Fishkill police are searching for a man who robbed a gas station convenience store last week in the Hopewell Junction hamlet.

The incident occurred Wednesday about 12:45 a.m. at the Sunoco station on Route 52 at Hosner Mountain Road, town police Lt. Kevin Keefe said Tuesday in a statement.

A man in his early to mid-20s walked into the store and showed a knife to the attendant at the register and demanded money. The robber fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in a dark-colored, four-door sedan heading east toward the Taconic State Parkway, police said.

The attendant was not hurt, police said.

The incident was caught on security video and detectives are asking the public for help in identifying the thief. Anyone with information can call East Fishkill police at 845-221-2111.
