An Eastchester man was charged by Putnam County sheriff's deputies with drug and needle possession following a scuffle Tuesday at a Southeast motel.

Adam C. Serrecchia, 37, of Dean Place, was charged Tuesday after sheriff's deputies were called to the Heidi's Inn, a motel on Route 22, just outside Brewster, that includes short-term rooms and longer stay efficiency units.

There, police said, they found Serrecchia involved in a dispute with an unidentified patron. Police found seven hypodermic needles on Serrecchia and an undisclosed quantity of marijuana, they said.

Serrecchia was sent to Putnam County Jail on charges of criminally possessing a hypodermic needle, a misdemeanor, and unlawful possession of marijuana, a violation.

He faces up to a year in jail if convicted.

Calls to Serrecchia's Eastchester home were not returned.
