STAMFORD - Emergency teams descended on a school in Stamford today to participate in a large-scale emergency response exercise.

Community Emergency Response Teams from Wilton, New Canaan, Bridgeport, Fairfield, Monroe, Weston and Stamford were at Roxbury Elementary School to prepare to handle worst-case scenarios.

The volunteers acted out how to respond to a fire and explosion inside a business complex.

Officials say the CERT teams need to be prepared for anything.

Leaders say today's drill was important because it brought together teams from across the region.
