Need weekend plans or something to do with the kids during the week? There are a ton of free children's events at local libraries, but we also found free things to do elsewhere this month. Whether you have one, two, three or more kids in tow, here's a roundup of fun, budget-friendly events in July.

Films at the Farm: Jurassic Park at Mulford Farm (10 James Lane, East Hampton) on Friday, July 5, at 8:30 p.m. Bring a picnic and enjoy an outdoor viewing of "Jurassic Park." Rain date is July 8.

Young Naturalists Butterfly Discovery at Stillwell Woods Preserve (South Woods Road, Syosset) on Saturday, July 6, at 9:30 a.m. Take a walk with the Huntington-Oyster Bay Audubon Society and look for butterflies.

Photo Safari Race: You Can't Take It With You at Sagamore Hill National Historic Site (Sagamore Hill Road, Cove Neck) on Sunday, July 7, from noon-4 p.m. Naturalist Lois Lindberg will lead a nature walk at noon followed by a leaf rubbing activity.

Family Night Series: Hot Peas 'N Butter at Heckscher Park (2 Prime Ave., Huntington) on Tuesday, July 9, at 7:30 p.m. Families can participate in an interactive show featuring traditional Latin music, Afro-Caribbean rhythms, jazz, folk and rock.

Movies on the Harbor: Madagascar 3 at Harborfront Park (101-A East Broadway, Port Jefferson) on Tuesday, July 9, at 8:30 p.m. Outdoor movie begins at dusk. Kids and adults will enjoy this animated movie starring the voices of Ben Stiller, Jada Pinkett Smith, Chris Rock and more.

Author Appearance: Julie Kagawa at Barnes & Noble (91 Old Country Rd., Carle Place) on Wednesday, July 10, at 7 p.m. Join a teen romance panel discussion and book signing with Julie Kagawa, Katie McGarry, and Aimee Carter.

Movie on the Lawn: The Sandlot at Molloy College (1000 Hempstead Ave., Rockville Centre) on Thursday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. Families can enjoy this classic movie; films begin around sunset.

Film: Hotel Transylvania at Harry Chapin Lakeside Theater of Eisenhower Park (Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow) on Thursday, July 11, at 7:30 p.m. An outdoor viewing of "Hotel Transylvania" starring Adam Sandler, Andy Samberg and Selena Gomez. Rated PG; park in fields 6 and 6a, movie begins at dusk.

Outdoor Movie: Wreck-It Ralph at Deepwells Farm County Park (Route 25A and Moriches Road, St. James) on Thursday, July 11, at dusk. This movie is rated PG and stars John C. Reilly. Bring blankets and lawn chairs.

Kids Koncert with DJ Didi Maxx at Hoyt Farm Park Preserve (200 New Highway, Commack) on Friday, July 12, at 7 p.m. Children's music, fun and more; don't forget your chairs and a picnic as you enjoy the show. Check website for rain dates.

Happenings on Main Street: Constant Wonder and Andrea Cetlin at Northport Village Park (Main Street, Northport) on Friday, July 12, at 7 p.m. A family-friendly performance at the dock; schedule is subject to change due to weather.

Cinema on the Bay 2013: Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory at Sunset Park (Main Street and Shore Road, Port Washington) on Saturday, July 13, at 8:30 p.m. Bring a picnic and lawn chairs while you watch this classic musical comedy starring Gene Wilder.

Family Fun Day at Brookhaven National Laboratory (William Floyd Parkway, Upton) on Sunday, July 14, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Explore magnets, mirrors and more with hands-on activities. First come, first served; visitors 16 and older must bring a photo ID.

Summer Arts Festival: Trout Fishing in America at Heckscher Park (2 Prime Ave., Huntington) on Tuesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. An outdoor, family-friendly concert featuring a mix of folk and pop influenced by reggae, Latin, blues, jazz and classical music.

Movie: Back to the Future at The Patio (445 S. Main St., Freeport) on Tuesday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. This PG-rated movie stars Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.

Children's Festival and Safety Day at John J. Burns Park (4990 Merrick Rd., Massapequa) on Saturday, July 20, from 1-4 p.m. There will be kid-friendly entertainment, bouncy houses, refreshments, airbrush painting, balloon art and more.

Young People and the Arts: The Pushcart Players at Clinton G. Martin Park (1601 Marcus Ave., New Hyde Park) on Tuesday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m. Bring something to sit on and a few snacks as you enjoy a the classic tale of Peter and the Wolf.

Summer Arts Festival: Freckleface Strawberry at Heckscher Park (2 Prime Ave., Huntington) on Tuesday, July 23, at 7:30 p.m. Families can enjoy a musical based on the children's book series by Julianne Moore, about a little girl who will do anything to get rid of her freckles.

Movies on the Harbor: Brave at Harborfront Park (101-A East Broadway, Port Jefferson) on Tuesday, July 23, at 8:30 p.m. An animated children's movie rated PG featuring the voices of Kelly Macdonald, Billy Connolly and Emma Thompson; movie begins at dusk.

Disney Camp Rock at Heckscher Park (2 Prime Ave., Huntington) on Tuesday, July 2, at 7:30 p.m. and at Clark Botanic Garden (193 I.U. Willets Rd., Albertson) on Tuesday, July 23 at 7 p.m. Enjoy a Disney-inspired performance and don't forget a chair or blanket.

Outdoor Movie: Free Willy at Crab Meadow Park (off Waterside Ave., Northport) on Thursday, July 25, at 7 p.m. Movie starts at sunset, in case of rain, movie will be shown at James H. Boyd Intermediate School (286 Cuba Hill Rd., Elwood). Movie is rated PG.

Exploring the Ultra Small at Brookhaven National Laboratory (William Floyd Parkway, Upton) on Sunday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Kids ages 10 and older can visit the Center for Functional Nanomaterials and watch researchers probe structures as tiny as a billionth of a meter.

Outdoor Movie: Monsters, Inc. at Clinton G. Martin Park (1601 Marcus Ave., New Hyde Park) on Sunday, July 28, at 7:30 p.m. An animated adventure movie featuring the voices of John Goodman and Billy Crystal.
