U.S. Kids magazines annual cover contests
Calling all budding artists, the U.S. Kids magazines ("Turtle," "Humpty Dumpty" and "Jack and Jill") annual cover contest recently kicked off.
The cover contest is open to children ages 3 -12 and this year's theme is "If I Had A Superpower." Winners will be chosen by a panel of judges that includes Jim Davis (cartoonist and creator of "Garfield"), Shane Sowell (artist for "King of the Hill," "The Simpsons" and "Piggy Nation) and Joyce Raimondo (author of seven children's art books including the Museum of Modern Art's "Art Safari" series).
Each magazine will award a first-, second- and third-place winner. First-place winners' art work will appear on the covers of the May/June 2014 publications. Second- and third-place winners' entries will be featured within the magazines. In addition, all winners' schools will receive a donation toward their art programs, which to date, U.S. Kids have awarded more than $100,000 in cash and prizes to help schools fuel their art programs.
Kids should submit entries based on their age:
* "Turtle" magazine for ages 3-5
* "Humpty Dumpty" magazine for ages 5-7
* "Jack and Jill" magazine for ages 7-12
To enter, simply mail the "If I Had A Superpower" art work to U.S. Kids Annual Cover Contest, P.O. Box 567, Indianapolis, IN 46206, or by visiting uskidsmags.com/contest. Entries must be received by Feb. 28, 2014.
