Did Ed Sheeran bid a tweet farewell to Twitter?

Early last week it was reported that the carrot-topped singer had left the social media site after being cyber-bullied. Then on Wednesday, he posted on Instagram that he hadn’t left, but “I’m just not reading anything, except Harry Potter.” He’ll talk more about the Twitter controversy on “Sunday Night With Megyn Kelly” on Sunday, July 9, at 7 p.m. on NBC/4.

Sheeran isn’t the first celeb to have an on-again/off-again relationship with Twitter. In fact, he’s in good company:

WHO Alec Baldwin

WHEN HE LEFT So many times — in December 2011, July 2012 and June 2013.

WHY HE LEFT The last time was because his wife, Hilaria, was attacked for posting upbeat tweets during the funeral of actor James Gandolfini. Baldwin told Vanity Fair that he would never tweet again.

IS HE BACK? Never say never. Baldwin has both a personal account and another for his Alec Baldwin Foundation. Last fall, he also traded tweets with Donald Trump, who was not too fond of the actor’s impersonation of him on “Saturday Night Live.”

WHO Lindsay Lohan

WHEN SHE LEFT In January she wiped clean both her Twitter and Instagram accounts.

WHY SHE LEFT It seemed like she made a New Year’s resolution to distance herself from social media. At the time, Lohan’s rep said the actress was “in a period of renewal, and is very excited for what the new year holds.”

IS SHE BACK? Not only is she back, but last week she sent out tweets telling Americans to stop bullying President Trump.

WHO Kanye West

WHEN HE LEFT Fans were dismayed one day in May when the rapper’s Twitter and Instagram accounts had been deleted.

WHY HE LEFT The reason remains as much of a mystery as his cryptic speech at the 2015 Video Music Awards.

IS HE BACK? He’s still missing in action.

WHO Leslie Jones

WHEN SHE LEFT July 19, 2016, following the release of her movie “Ghostbusters.”

WHY SHE LEFT A negative review of the movie sparked a barrage of nasty tweets — many with a racist tone — against her. “All this hatred giving me the blues,” she used for her signoff.

IS SHE BACK? Just two days after leaving, she tweeted her reason for returning: “Who else is gonna live tweet Game of Thrones!!”
