The father of a boy who accused Michael Jackson of molesting him committed suicide at his luxury high-rise in Jersey City, officials said Tuesday.
Evan Chandler, 65, a retired dentist, was found Nov. 5 in his apartment with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, police said. He was found on his bed, the revolver still in his hand, according to police.
In 1993, Chandler's then- 13-year-old son accused Jackson - who died this summer - of molesting him. No criminal charges were filed and Jackson settled a civil suit with the family for what is believed to have been more than $20 million.
Chandler, who had since become estranged from his son, was very ill and regularly seeing a hematologist in nearby Bayonne, police said.- amNewYork
