"American Horror Story: Coven" star Emma Roberts, daughter of actor Eric Roberts and niece of film star Julia Roberts, has gotten engaged.
People magazine said it had confirmed that Roberts, 22, and her "Coven" co-star, Evan Peters, 26, became engaged over the holidays. He presented her with a pink gold and diamond ring, the magazine said, and the two then spent New Year's Eve in London.
"Extra" previously noted reports of an engagement, but with no confirmation.
Roberts and Peters reportedly had been dating for months before they were photographed together at the wedding of Roberts' stylist in Santa Barbara, Calif., in July 2012. They had both been in the cast of the as-yet-unreleased independent comedy "Adult World," which shot in Syracuse early that year.
The day after the photographs at the wedding emerged, People confirmed reports that Roberts and Peters had been involved in a violent altercation at a Montreal hotel several days prior.
Roberts was arrested but no charges were filed, and the case was closed. The couple's representative released a statement calling it "an unfortunate incident and misunderstanding. Ms. Roberts was released after questioning and the couple are working together to move past it."
Roberts dated Chord Overstreet of "Glee" beginning around April 2011, said reports at the time, but the two had a difficult relationship and they broke up by January 2012. On "American Horror Story: Coven," Roberts plays Madison Montgomery, a student at a private school for witches in New Orleans. Peters plays Kyle Spencer, a university student whom Madison kills but then reanimates.
