Bill Cosby to headline White Plains show in September
Bill Cosby will headline a Sept. 7 show at the Westchester County Center (198 Central Ave., White Plains; 914-995-4050; wmconcerts.com), with the tickets presale kicking off at 10 a.m. Wednesday.
Besides his incredible TV résumé -- which includes "The Cosby Show," "Fat Albert," "I Spy," to name a few -- Cosby might be even more revered for his laid-back, observational stand-up comedy. Among his most celebrated works are 1968's "To Russell, My Brother, Whom I Slept With" and 1982's "Himself," which includes this epic bit about dentists.
The presale runs from 10 a.m. to 10 p.m., tomorrow through Friday. A presale code is available to those who sign up for emailed newsletters from the show's promoter, WM Concerts. The public ticket sale begins at 10 a.m. Saturday.
Cosby is the latest act to appear at the County Center, which welcomed the Beach Boys to its stage last May in an effort to book more staged programming geared toward adults. Since then, the County Center has hosted performances by the rock band Boston, Il Volo, and Aretha Franklin.
Before Cosby waxes poetic in downtown White Plains, Paul Anka will play the venue on May 21, and a touring production of "The Price is Right" will come to the County Center on May 29.
