Howard Stern, Hayden Panettiere earn Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week
Which local celebrities had the funniest and most intriguing Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week? If you're familiar with the term/person "Baba Booey," you might be pleased with the results.
As usual, this is an interactive process, so you'll have the chance to vote on your favorite Hudson Valley celebrity tweet at the bottom of the page. Meanwhile, if you missed the three previous editions, check them out, too.
At No. 5, Bedford resident and "A Bronx Tale" star Chazz Palminteri gives us the Twitter equivalent of the sound of one hand clapping.
Look at Chazz, all finger-snaps and bongos. That's deep, man. But not as deep as the water in my basement if my mind's not powerful enough to ward off a hurricane.
In the four-slot, we wish a happy belated birthday to Palisades native and "Nashville" star Hayden Panettiere, who turned 23 on Tuesday and celebrated with a present she showed off a day later.
Panettiere looks psyched to get a ukulele from her "Nashville" co-star, Charles Esten, who evidently doesn't go by "Chip" Esten anymore. Dude, you expect me to watch all those years of "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" and start calling you "Charles," just because you're on a drama now? All right, but only because Rick/Ricky Schroeder was so good on "NYPD Blue."
Taking the three-spot is former "Awkward" writer Lauren Caltagirone, a graduate of Hendrick Hudson High School in Montrose, and an absolute Twitter phenom under the name @MrsRupertPupkin.
A current scribe for "Guys with Kids," Caltagirone often takes to Twitter to joke about being a single woman who finds solace in her cat, Harris, a Twitter celebrity in his own right. (At least we think they're jokes.)
In second place, we have a tie and what appears to be a detente between Nyack resident Rosie O'Donnell and real-estate magnate Donald Trump, who owns a good chunk of property in the Hudson Valley, and now, perhaps, the tiniest bit of O'Donnell's recovering heart.
Wait, so, Donald and Rosie are totes BFF's now? Given the tenuous nature of every Hollywood peace process to unfold before this one, don't count on this lasting very long. That said, Newsday Westchester is secretly digging the prospect of this unlikely friendship. Hey, there's hope for everyone, especially if O'Donnell and Howard Stern have proved to be good friends after their heated rivalry.
Speaking of the so-called King of All Media, Stern seemed to be as disappointed in this week's "America's Got Talent" voting as the rest of the country was.
As someone who's watched "AGT" since this season's premiere, I feel like the Wild Card week represented the first time viewers voted for acts that weren't the best of bunch. Making the cut were dog ventriloquist Todd Oliver, young mariachi singer Sebastian El Charro de Oro, goth opera singer Andrew De Leon and modern clog team All That, but I'd have traded all of them for the danger-seeking archer Ben Blaque, in part because of his gorgeous assistant, Devon. To quote Howard: "Hey now."
Which of these tweets was this week’s best? Vote in the Hudson Buzz poll below. Did we miss your favorite celebrity tweet with a Hudson Valley connection?
