Jordan Peele, Allison Hagendorf earn Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week

This edition of Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week celebrates beginnings and endings for celebrities with regional connections. If you missed any of Newsday Westchester's previous Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week installments, click here.

At No. 5, former North Salem resident and former "American Idol" contestant Kimberley Locke celebrates the debut of her new single, "Finally Free," on Billboard's Dance Club Play chart.

I'm no longer an "Idol" fan — I stopped watching about three seasons ago, and it's a liberating feeling all the way around — but I'm always surprised Locke didn't resonate as much as some of her successors did on the pop charts. Maybe dance will be the genre that redefines and reinvents her career.

With no relevant winner since Jordin Sparks six seasons ago, it's hard to argue that the show is the hitmaker it once was. When its only buzz surrounds former Bedford resident Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj's feud as new "Idol" judges, that can't be a good sign.

At No. 4, it's New City native Allison Hagendorf, who just hosted the season finale of "The Next: Fame is at Your Doorstep." Here she is with the big winner, Michael Ray.

It was also a big night for Hagendorf, who reveled in hosting Thursday's finale: "Tonight was the best night of my life. Period." That's some big talk from the former Little Miss Clarkstown.

In the third spot of the countdown is Yonkers native Erik Palladino, who's got a new TV series in "666 Park Avenue" and is ready to battle the competition — within reason.

If only Palladino had told that to that guy with the sword in "Raiders of the Lost Ark," he'd still be a viable contestant on "So You Think You Can Sword Dance?" In fact, he'd be the winner, because he'd be the only contestant.

This week's runner-up also has new TV shows running these days. Jordan Peele, who attended Sarah Lawrence college in the late '90s, continues to crush with his co-star Keegan-Michael Key on the second season of Comedy Central's inspired "Key & Peele." Things appear to be going well for Peele, but his co-star's getting a little more love from Twitter headquarters these days.

In fairness to both Peele and Twitter HQ, I'd have a tough time remembering who I am if I pretended to be all of the players from this week's incredible football sketch.

Earning the top spot for the Hudson Valley Tweets of the Week is "Top Chef All-Stars" winner Richard Blais, who makes his second appearance on this countdown. The graduate of the Culinary Institute of the Arts in Hyde Park is known for his outstanding presentation, but he speaks of a time when he hadn't quite developed that skill.

Sadly, it can be tough to hear the lack of an apostrophe in crucial situations like these.
