Mazel tov, Rosie O’Donnell! The Nyack-based comedian announced on her blog this morning that she married Michelle Rounds, whom she'd been referring to as her fianceé, in June.

Both O'Donnell and Rounds endured health setbacks this year – O’Donnell had a heart attack this month, and Rounds, a SUNY New Paltz graduate, was diagnosed with desmoid tumors in the spring – so it’s nice to have happy news from the couple.

O’Donnell wrote of her nuptials in her latest blog post, writing: “We married in private before her surgery, just the 2 of us.” She added that, “When we r [sic] both well enough will have the wedding of r dreams.”

O'Donnell's rep, Cindi Berger, told People magazine that the couple tied the knot in a private ceremony in New York but have not yet celebrated the wedding. The couple had originally planned on getting married Aug. 17, but Berger said that after Rounds’ diagnosis, they decided to wed before her first surgery, which took place June 14.

O'Donnell, 50, revealed her newlywed status in a poem meant to let readers know that she was auctioning off her paintings on eBay, and that “all money made will be matched by me and donated to dtrf.org,” referring to the Desmoid Tumor Research Foundation.

O’Donnell also wrote that “this crazy summer has taken me into uncharted territory.” We can only hope that autumn is much kinder to her and Rounds.
