Jay-Z to write score for 'Great Gatsby' starring Leonardo DiCaprio

Tweet reveals Jay-Z role in epicJay-Z is composing the score for the upcoming Leonardo DiCaprio drama "The Great Gatsby," according to a music producer who's been collaborating with the rapper, Newsday's Rafer Guzmán reports. "Jay-Z and myself have been working tirelessly on the score for the upcoming #CLASSIC The Great Gatsby!" wrote Jeymes Samuel, known as The Bullitts, on his Twitter account Sunday. "It is too DOPE for words!" Questions about Jay-Z's involvement first arose in May, when his track "No Church in the Wild" accompanied the film's trailer. "The Great Gatsby," Baz Luhrmann's adaptation of the F. Scott Fitzgerald novel about a Long Island millionaire, is due for release May 10.
