Though former reality TV star Jon Gosselin has said that he does not want his children back on television, his ex, Kate Gosselin, told Hollywood Life why she has agreed to doing a one-hour "Kate Plus 8" special that will give viewers an update on her and her children.

"I do have eight kids to support solely and so obviously that is at the heart of every parent's mind," she said.

Kate Gosselin said her children will play a larger role in the special than they did on "Kate Plus 8," which ended in 2011. "They're funnier, the conversations we have now are hysterical. They want to give me fashion advice and dating advice and all these other things," she said.

"They're very vocal and that has come out in this and they're just the same great kids and becoming more of who they are and will be."
