It never hurts to ask: 17-year-old high-school senior Jake Davidson, who posted a YouTube video inviting model Kate Upton to his prom, got to speak with her on live TV when she called in to his "Today" show appearance Wednesday morning.
"I absolutely loved the video," she told him. "It was so hilarious and so creative. I mean, thank you so much for doing that. I really appreciate it."
Davidson earlier explained, "I got the idea a couple months ago . . . but then last week I was talking to a family friend, Talia Myers, who made the video, and we talked and we're like, 'Let's do it!' " Myers' brother, Dustin, plays Davidson's butler in the one-minute, 46-second video.
The Sherman Oaks, Calif., teen -- who had been invited by "Today" after Upton tweeted a response to his video on Tuesday -- was visibly stunned when she was introduced, stammering, "H-hi, Kate!"
The New York-based Upton, 20, went on to say, "I definitely have to check my schedule, but you seem like so much fun, and if everything works out, I'd love to go with you. I know we'd have a blast."
"Kate, I'm telling you, it'll be a great night, a great evening," Davidson pitched at the urging of the "Today" hosts. "I can even get [my 11 p.m.] curfew extended, hopefully . . . I'd hope you'd be interested if your schedule's free and what time should I pick you up if you're interested?"
The prom is May 23.
