Rapper Kanye West and Kim Kardashian are engaged, the reality-TV star's mother confirmed Tuesday.
"A match made in heaven!" Kris Jenner told E! News. "I am so happy for both of my kids, Kim and Kanye." West, 38, proposed on Monday, Kardashian's 33rd birthday, with the couple's friends and family in attendance.
E!, which airs "Keeping Up with the Kardashians" and its spinoff shows, said West rented out AT&T Park in San Francisco, where baseball's Giants play, and arranged for fireworks and a 50-piece orchestra that played Lana Del Rey's "Young and Beautiful" and the Keri Hilson, Ne-Yo and West collaboration "Knock You Down."
Separate photos posted on Instagram by Jenner and by Kim Kardashian and sister Khloé Kardashian show various views of the stadium's giant scoreboard reading "PLEEEASE MARRY MEEE!!!" -- one image including a close-up of Kardashian's 15-carat Lorraine Schwartz engagement ring.
Schwartz's representative told E! that West was involved in the ring's design "in every single way. He had a vision from the beginning. . . . He and Lorraine emailed back and forth and stayed up nights discussing how he wanted it to be. He wanted the diamond to look like it was floating on air."
E! said West sought and received Jenner's permission before proposing.
Longtime friends Kardashian and West, who began dating in April 2012, had a baby together, daughter North West, on June 15.
