A French news site has released security footage of what it says may be the five individuals who bound and robbed reality-TV star Kim Kardashian at her Paris hotel on Oct. 3.

M6info, a division of the French TV network M6, on Thursday posted an edited, 48-second video clip from a closed-circuit camera in an alleyway, pointed toward a street that leads to rue Tronchet. Kardashian was staying at the Hôtel de Pourtalès, a highly private, unmarked abode at 7 rue Tronchet in Paris’ tony Madeleine district.

The footage was posted at TMZ.com. Dated Oct. 3, the silent, black-and-white video begins with a segment time-stamped 02:18:55 to 02:19:07 a.m., showing three bicyclists passing through from left to right. From 02:33:02 to 02:33:12 a.m., two pedestrians go by in the same direction. All are unrecognizable.

More than a half-hour later, from 03:07:06 to 03:07:14 a.m., two pedestrians go by, walking right to left. From 03:08:20 to 03:08:26 a.m., two bicyclists ride past in the same direction. Finally, from 03:09:06 to 03:09:09 a.m., the last bicyclist goes by in that direction, carrying by the handlebars what appears to be a bag. The video freezes, then zooms in on the bag, which presumably contained the stolen items. It was unclear if the zoom was done by TMZ or M6info.

“Images are important to the investigation but they are unfortunately not clear enough to identify the perpetrators,” M6info wrote, translated from the French.

A Kardashian spokeswoman told the European news agency AFP the day of the burglary that the star was “badly shaken but physically unharmed” after “two armed masked men dressed as police officers” surprised her in the apartment. Law-enforcement officials told the agency that Kardashian had been “tied up and locked in the bathroom” while a total of five thieves stole jewelry valued in the millions.

Kardashian, star of E!’s “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” returned to the United States the same day and has kept a low profile, not posting to social media. People magazine said Thursday that she planned to spend her 36th birthday on Friday quietly with family.
