Reality TV star Khloé Kardashian and her estranged husband, the recently hospitalized former NBA player Lamar Odom, have called off their pending divorce. The necessary document had been awaiting only a judge's signature to become final.

E! News said Wednesday that Kardashian's attorney, Laura Wasser, had gone to court that morning in Los Angeles to withdraw the divorce petition, which a backlog had kept the judge from signing. The court granted Wasser's motion and the divorce procedure ended.

The document signed by Odom and Kardashian was submitted without prejudice, which means it can be refiled at later date, The Associated Press reported.

Kardashian, 31, has been by Odom's side as he continues to recuperate at Los Angeles' Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. Odom, 35, had fallen unconscious last week while staying at a legal Nevada brothel, where he had used cocaine and sexual-performance enhancers, according to the Nye County Sheriff's Office. He was comatose for four days in a Las Vegas hospital before awakening and being transferred to California via medical helicopter.

Odom and Kardashian were married on Sept. 27, 2009, in a lavish Beverly Hills ceremony. But the Queens native and two-time NBA champion with the Los Angeles Lakers has had a troubled history with drug abuse, and was sentenced to 36 months probation on Dec. 9, 2013, after pleading no contest to an August DUI charge. Reports at the time said he and Kardashian had mostly lived apart since that summer while attending couples counseling, and did not spend their fourth anniversary together in September. Kardashian filed for divorce that December.

On Tuesday, Kardashian released a statement for the first time since Odom's hospitalization. In a post on her website, she admitted the "past week has been incredibly difficult" and thanked friends, family and fans for the "outpouring of love and endless prayers that Lamar has received."

During her estrangement from Odom, Kardashian reportedly was dating another NBA notable: the Houston Rockets' bearded star James Harden. E! News said that Harden and Kardashian had been in constant contact throughout the ordeal with Odom. TMZ.com, citing sources, said Tuesday that Kardashian had put the relationship with Harden on hold.
