Country music star LeAnn Rimes, who entered a 30-day treatment facility in August for what her representative called anxiety and stress, says she feels fortunate to have a chance to restart her life.

"I feel like I am starting over, even though I've had all these years behind me," Rimes, 30, tells Katie Couric on Thursday's episode of the syndicated "Katie." "How many people get to start over again in this day and age?"

Rimes acknowledged that her celebrity status may color people's perceptions of her emotional issues.

"People look at you and go, 'Why are you struggling?' " she said. "No one can quite understand why you hurt so badly."

Rimes endured criticism for beginning a relationship with actor Eddie Cibrian while both were married. Cibrian, a father of two, left his wife, Brandi Glanville of "The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills" to marry Rimes in 2011.
